iPhone 13 vs. iPhone 13 Pro Price and Storage
The iPhone 13 mini starts at $699, the iPhone 13 at $799, the iPhone 13 Pro at $999, and the iPhone 13 Pro Max at $1,099, all of which are currently available for purchase. These costs are £679, £779, £949, and £1,049 in the UK, respectively.
The 64GB storage option has been eliminated, and all four phones now come in 256GB and 512GB versions after starting at 128 GB. The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max do, however, have a significant 1TB model to their advantage.
The iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13 have a significant price advantage, but if you value large amounts of storage, you should consider the Pro models. However, they are not inexpensive, so we advise you to check out our particular page for iPhone 13 deals for the most recent discounts.
iPhone 13 vs. iPhone 13 Pro: Design and Colors
All four new iPhone 13 models have smaller notches, which is good news. They have been cut by 20%, so whichever one you use will have a little more screen space.
Other than that, there aren’t many design differences between the iPhone 13 range and the iPhone 12 models. Except for being slightly thicker, they are all nearly identical in size. That means the iPhone 13 mini has dimensions of 2.53 x 5.18 x 0.3 inches, the iPhone 13 has dimensions of 2.82 x 5.78 x 0.3 inches, and the iPhone 13 Pro has dimensions identical to the iPhone 13. Meanwhile, the iPhone 13 Pro Max measures 3.07 x 6.33 x 0.3 inches.
Both have a new camera array on the back, and it’s here that the design differences are most noticeable. The iPhone 13 mini and 13 have two primary lenses arranged diagonally, whereas the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max have three lenses arranged across a larger camera module.
The two phones’ color options are also vastly different. The iPhone 13 mini and 13 are available in five colors: Starlight, Midnight, Blue, Pink, and (PRODUCT)RED. Meanwhile, the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max only get four options, but they’re more subtle and appealing. You can choose from Graphite, Gold, Silver, and Sierra Blue.
iPhone 13 vs. iPhone 13 Pro: Displays
All four iPhone 13 models retain their previous screen sizes, with the iPhone 13 mini sporting a 5.4-inch display and the standard iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro sporting a 6.1-inch display. Of course, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is the largest, with a 6.7-inch display.
Apple’s new Super Retina XDR OLED displays are used in all four models. The iPhone 13’s display has a typical outdoor brightness of 800 nits and a peak level of 1200 in HDR mode, representing a 28% increase in brightness. In comparison, the displays on the iPhone 13 Pro Max models are 1000 nits in typical outdoor use and can reach a maximum of 1200 nits.
The main difference between the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro handsets is that the latter models have a ProMotion display with an adaptive refresh rate, which allows the display to switch from a fast 120Hz to a slower 10Hz to conserve battery life.
iPhone 13 vs. iPhone 13 Pro: Camera
The iPhone 13 models all deliver impressive phone photography and have earned a spot on our best camera phones list; the iPhone 14 range has now superseded them.
However, there are significant differences between the iPhone 13’s dual rear cameras and the iPhone 13 Pro’s trio of cameras.
The iPhone 13 features a new sensor in its 12MP primary camera that lets in 47% more light for better night-time photography, and a faster sensor in its 12MP ultra-wide camera. These cameras are arranged diagonally rather than vertically, as seen on the iPhone 12. And they deliver impressive results, with bright and colorful shots, improved night photography, and four times more scenes captured on the ultra-wide camera.
The iPhone 13 Pro models receive similar upgrades, but on paper, they’re more impressive, with wider apertures on the main and ultra-wide cameras and a LiDAR scanner for night-mode portrait shots.
iPhone 13 vs. iPhone 13 Pro Battery
The battery capacity of all four iPhone 13 handsets has been increased, though Apple never reveals the exact capacity of its phones’ battery packs.
According to the battery test, the iPhone 13 mini had a battery life of 8 hours and 41 minutes, the iPhone 13 had a battery life of 10 hours and 33 minutes, the iPhone 13 Pro had a battery life of 11 hours and 42 minutes, and the iPhone 13 Pro Max had a battery life of 12 hours and 16 minutes.
The iPhone 13 Pro models are the way to go if you want the most extended battery life. However, the iPhone 13 outperforms the iPhone 12 in electrical endurance.
At launch, all of the iPhone 13 models were impressive, though the iPhone 13 mini’s smaller size received little attention. The iPhone 13 Pro offered the most significant upgrade for the iPhone at the time of launch, even though the iPhone 14 has since surpassed all four models. And if it had yet to be discontinued, it would have won this contest.
The iPhone 13 is still a great option if you need a new iPhone and want to save some cash. A few minor changes have changed to make the iPhone 14 worthwhile. Therefore, the iPhone 13 is definitely worth your consideration if you can find it for a reasonable price.
